Just a Few Pages

Smoke em' if you got em'

"You spin me right round baby, right round, like a record baby. Right right round round.

Just a few spreads from Tracy & Jordan's newly completed book. It was hard to keep this book under the 80-page mark because there are so many good pictures. I have also sent off the iPod slideshow to my friends at the iTunes music store. It should be ready for download in the next day or two.

What a party!

Good times were had by all at this weekends union between Tracy & Jordan. I spent the days meeting their friends and family and I figured while I was there I would take a few snap shots. These are just some of the pictures that I really liked, you can pre-register to see all of the days pictures in the "your event" section of my web site.

A few of my favorites!

These are just a few of my favorite images from last weekends wedding. Kari & Don could not have picked a more perfect day to celebrate their love, and Old World Wisconsin could not have been a more beautiful location. The three of use hopped in a golf cart and cruised around the historic buildings stopping for the occasional photo. Look for the iPod slideshow in the next few days.

I know I said I would post the new book spreads as I went but once I started working I couldn't stop. I just kept going and going, not one blog break, can you believe it. I should apologize to all you blog watchers out there (both of you) eagerly awaiting the next post. I am happy with the way Kelly & Jason’s book came out. It really was a pleasure working with them, and it's not over yet. Now I can have them over for drinks and make any changes they might want. To look at their wedding book click HERE.

My friends at the iTunes music store just released Kelly & Jason's slideshow for your viewing enjoyment. Click here to down load it with iTunes or go to Kelly & Jason's page in the "Your Event" section of Axis Photography to watch it online or download iTunes. There are some great images that I can't wait to add to the wedding book, I'll take a blog break later today to post a few pages.

Kelly & Jason

I thought I would post a few images from this past weekends wedding. I had a blast making these photos for Kelly & Jason. We went to a park in water town, just Kelly, Jason, me, and the hundred or so strangers hooting and hollering at us. We managed to find a clear area to snap off a few photos before heading off to their reception. Special thanks to their chauffeurs for keeping us on time. Be sure to check back in a few days for the slide show. We hit the course armed with golf carts and lookin' good, good times were sure to happen. Those images are going to be in the slideshow for sure.

I was a bit bored last night so I figured I would go hang out in Hartford for a few hours and display my art. Turns out some other artists had the same idea, great minds work on the same track. I handed out some cards and talked about art for a few hours. All in all a good night.

Time For A Tune Up!

I took a road trip down to Madison to visit my friends at BDC Camera Repair this morning. I dropped off my camera for a bit of personal attention. I signed it up for a cut and trim, a deep tissue massage, O yeah and they’re going to fix the hot shoe too. While I was in our states capital I decided to take a few pictures, imagine that.

So this is a photo of the capital building reflected in a cow covered in mirrors. Can someone tell me why there are cows all over the capital. Every place you look cows!

O LOOK!! The guy's who make these bagels must be geniuses.

I am a blogging machine. "I'm just a blog machine, and I don't work for no body but me." Wow. See I'm like this all the time it's not just wedding day, I just hum a random tune from time to time. Anyway I am almost done with Amy and Steve's wedding book. Before I take lunch I thought I would post another spread for your viewing enjoyment.

I am sure I will take my usual blog breaks to post a spread or three. Above is one of my favorite images from the day. You can sense the passion of the coming kiss.

In my usual form I stole the camera away form my fellow artists eyes photographer Carol Grant to make this portrait of Alyse. I loved the way the the color of the flower worked with her eyes and top. You can see more of Alyse's portraits by going to www.artists-eyes.com under "your event" click "Alyse Anderson".

The world of photography is always changing. To keep up with the ever-growing art I take classes with fellow photographers. Yesterday I had the privilege to work with one of the best in the industry, Gerry of X SiGHT photography. This is one of the pictures I took using a new technique I picked up from Jerry.

BLOG BREAK!

I got to stop every once and a while to give you a taste of the latest book. I am about 3/4 done with Jane & Kinglsey's wedding book; this is one of the spreads. I really liked the window coverings at the salon Jane got ready so I used it as the background for the page. I am always walking around looking for textures like that to use. Sometimes I see people whispering, "Is he taking a picture of the wall paper?". I will post more spreads when the book is complete.

I bet you have been wondering all this time, what dose a wedding photographer do for fun. You see entry after entry of my work, but what do I do for play. I go to a wedding and shoot whit other photographers! I had a blast with my friend and fellow photographer Elizabeth. It's nice to see how some one else works, and it gave me the chance to try things I never would at one of my weddings.

BLOG BREAK!!!! Work, work, work! Well it's really more like play, play, play. At any rate I am almost finished with Erin & Matt's wedding book, I can't wait to show them. This is one of the spreads, I loved the idea of bubbles. I think it came out well too.

Tuesday, July 04, 2006

I just finished going through Erin & Matt's images from last weekend. I can't wait to get started on their wedding book today. I had a great time getting to know the two of them and am sure they will lead a long happy life together. Right before the wedding Erin told the story of their first date, in my book any story with a bubble gum cigarette is a good one. You can register to see images of Erin telling this story and much more by clicking on "Erin & Matt" in the your event section of my web site.

This is strange a photographers blog without a photo? Wait I can explain! I put away the camera to have one last meeting with Lynda and Mike. I can't stress enough how important it is to be comfortable with your photographer. We had dinner and a drink in Oshkosh and chatted a bit. I am looking forward to seeing them in two weeks for the big day.

Another busy weekend of engagement sessions for me. Engagement sessions are one of my favorite things to do. It gave me the change to get to know Erin & Matt better. I like to understand what is is that draws a couple together before the wedding day. I can't wait for their wedding at the end of the month, it's going to be so much fun. You can see all of their pictures in the "Your Event" section of my web site.

I have the best job! Today I got the chance to hang out with Amy & Steve. We walked around by the lakefront and talked about how they met. O yeah, we took a few pictures too. Above is one of my favorites from the shoot, you can view the rest in the "your event" section of my site. I am looking forward to seeing them again soon to finalize the details of their day.

I just returned from a week long trip to Las Vages. I was at the anual WPPI confrence learning from some of the best wedding and portrait photographers in the business. I had the chance to talk to some of the photographers I look up to and get some real insite into their photography. I also spend the week working mobily on the last wedding at the top of the world (ie. the 70th floor of The Paris Hotel) and at the Valley of Fire". Which turned out GREAT! Below is a landscape I took while at my office in Vages.

I had a great time with Dana and Colin on Sunday. I thought this image captured their personalities. I love looking at an image and instantly bursting into laughter. I can't wait to work with them on their wedding day in October.

The work never ends, I have been so busy working for the artists eyes crew I haven't had a chance to blog. I am having bloggers with drawl so I better give you the update. I just finished up a yet another wedding book for the artist eyes crew, it looks great if I do say so my self. I am sure I will have several spreads posted tomorrow for your viewing enjoyment.

Now I have some down time, I might take the day off. HA! I can't stop workin' now I’m on a roll (that's what the bosses tell me). I just shot a wedding Thursday and the pictures are just beggin' to be worked on. I tried to post some of them this morning but apparently they were just too much for the web to take. I will try again later tonight.
